Celebrating the Next Generation of Virginia’s Innovators

RICHMOND, VA—The Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA) is excited to introduce Future Makers, a new student competition track within the Virginia Manufacturing Cup. This category invites Virginia students ages 13+ to design, build, and submit their own manufactured products in this public competition.

Future Makers expands the Cup’s reach by showcasing emerging talent and inspiring students to explore STEM, CTE, engineering, and advanced manufacturing career pathways. Students may enter individually or as teams, and all submissions must be designed and assembled in Virginia. Participation is free, and eligible entrants must be enrolled in a Virginia high school, community college, four-year university, or approved homeschool program.

All qualifying entries will be featured on VAMFGCup.com during the public voting period. The top finalists will be recognized at the Virginia Manufacturing Gala, where Gold, Silver & Bronze medals will be awarded. The Gold medalist will receive the title Future Maker of the Year, with the student’s school or sponsoring program honored as well.

Future Makers supports the statewide effort to highlight innovation and strengthen Virginia’s manufacturing talent pipeline.
